UNLIMITED 3G USB data plans and tariff in India

If you are looking out for unlimited 3G data plans and tariffs in India, then I have a good news for you.

ZooZoo is here for your help. Yeah, you thought it right – its Vodafone.

unlimited 3g data plans

If you are wondering why just Vodafone? Then, take this – Airtel , BSNL and other major telecom players don’t even have term called UNLIMITED in their plans and tariffs. May be you should only dream about their unlimited 3G data plans.

Well, you have Tata Docomo offering unlimited 3G USB plans but they come with something called as FUP. Now if you are wondering what is FUP ? It stands for Fair Use Policy, where after certain GB of data download, you are again charged for usage. If you are surprised why they call this an UNLIMITED plan? Even I am wondering too..

Well, take a look at these unlimited Vodafone 3G plans.  An interesting fact is that the tariff is same for both Prepaid and Postpaid connections.

Sounds Promising right !

The Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G USB Stick lets you work from anywhere with internet on the go. There are no installation hassles. Plug it in and you are done.

If you are thinking of how much does the USB stick initially costs ? – Let me tell you – It costs a whopping Rs. 1500 but its worth itl.

Also, you can now avail USB data card at just Rs.1699 with unlimited usage absolutely free for the 1st month!! Post 1 month you need to walk-in to the nearest Vodafone Store or Call 111  to avail any of the above mentioned plans or other limited usage plans.

No FUP.. No Limit.. Now this is what we call truly unlimited, untill something terribly goes wrong.

The plans could be truly unlimited but you might have speed limit after certain usage of data.

    • Yeah, Vodafone is not ready to reveal anythin more than this. Lets see.. What it turns out to be :)

      • Manu says:

its a scam…you get limited connectivity around Mumbai…THE UNLIMITED PLAN IS FOR 2G SERVICE ONLY..NOT 3G..YOU CONNECT AT RESTRICTED SPEEDS…HERE’S THE REAL KICKER..THE RESTRICTED SPEED IS 120KPBS…I DON’T EVEN REMEMBER WHAT 120KBPS USED TO BE..WE’RE TALKING KILO BITS AND THAT TOO AVG SPEED..MEANING..U WILL BE CONNECTED AT DIAL-UP SPEEDS..DO YOU EVEN REMEMBER…THE BEEPING FAX TONES ETC…THATS THE SPEED WE’RE TALKING ABT..RIDICULOUS

    • Sourabh says:

I am from kolkata and I recently bought a Vodafone internet USB stick, which claims to have a connectivity speed of 7.1 mbps and 3G connection. My experience has been extremely bad mainly because of these reasons:

      - network is extremely poor and the the connectivity speed is around 500 kbps or lower;

      - the network gets disconnected very frequently;

      - the connectivity bar is always between 2 to 3 bars;

      - lastly and most importantly, if you are an existing vodafone customer, then before buying the USB stick, do insist on checking the stick. My USB stick turned out to be faulty and I had a tough time getting a replacement. i had to run to the Vodafone store 3 times, just to seek a replacement!

I cannot comment on other service providers, but Vodafone 3G in Kolkata definitely sucks!

  16. Hitesh says:

Boss, thanks for this excellent lucrative figures.

You’re right they are unlimited but in 2G spectrum using the 3G enabled stick. Yeah you read it right you’ll be getting the 3G stick but the speed will be of 2G. Confirmed with the call centers of Vodafone in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta and Chennai. If you want some more details go to Vodafone.in and check out the tariff plans mentioned out there.

    • yeah, that is not the way to go….But you could still opt for it as enough speeds to work on the go. PRICES are the matter of concern here. Reasonable I must say. Also UNLIMITED, take a thought now :)

Thanks for your comment Hitesh :)

Hey nikhil, u are mistaken. i stay in kochi and we have 3g services available from almost all the networks here. 3g services has been launched by bsnl in last march itself and now you have all the other players here. i dont know how u got it wrong mate…

  18. Shray says:

    Hello Nikhil,

I just moved to Bangalore and looking for a 3G data card, and as i searched for it over net i got to finalize UMG-1831 as it has support upto 21.1 mbps. And now it comes to the service provider as i can go for any provider I’m looking for the one which has God Coverage area, Good network, and reasonable Unlimited Plans. Firstly i searched for BSNL and got some good reviews, but only today i got to know that BSNL shuts down it’s Unlimited Plans, and ruins my plans. SO I’m again at the search on large. Just now i got through this post of yours which seems useful, so would you suggest me to go for Vodafone as it has Unlimited plans, but does it got good coverage and network, and if not which one do you suggest me to go for. Thanks in advance bro !!

    • Vodafone definitely has a good coverage, plans are unlimited too, but the speeds are not upto 21.1Mbps . It has a reasonable speed and is fair. If money is not an issue, airtel is a good choice I feel :)

      • Srini says:

Vodafone 3G USB Stick is terrible. I bought one in Coimbatore for Rs.2300 in Feb 2012, hoping it would keep me connected when I travel down South in Tamil Nadu. There is next to zero 2G network coverage in Tamil Nadu!! So forget 3G! Horrible customer service! Their advertisements got me to buy the stick! Very big Mistake! Stick to reliance Netconnect. Everywhere I went, remote areas too, reliance had good Network.!

  19. Shray says:

But doesn’t speed depends on the device which I’m purchasing, and if not then how much is the max downloading and uploading speed one can have with vodafone ??

  20. Shray says:

Thanks a lot for the info bro !!

  21. Nish says:

Hey wats de speed u get intat vodafone usb ?
I enquired in davangere vodafone store and they told arnd 200 odd kbps only …. Is it nt very less ?

  22. sriram says:

Dear Nikhil, I am sorry to correct you, but u are horribly mistaken. I got a Vodafone 3G bill of 7,600 rupees. I used all of 17 GB… Now please tell me why this was so?? And anyway, they have removed unlimited plans. Kindly modify ur post

  23. Nakul Ahuja says:

hey derrick idd like to tell u that bsnl is a very good service provider for broadband rest if u want mobility go in for tata photon plus !! bsnl broadband has a good speed wherin u get 70 to 80 kbps download speed and the link speed is like 512 kbps which indeed is fast enough for skype calls 3g data tarrifs are too high priced

  24. sauban khan says:

What is the average download rate on these unlimited plans
With airtel I am getting download speeds of about 100-150Mbps/sec and I mean the download speed not the browsing speed

  26. HARRY says:

MTNL 3G IS UNLIMITED FOR 6 MONTHS IN JUST 4500 ITS GIVES SPEED BETWEEN 1-2 Mbps SO THATS ENOUGH FOR MUMBAI AND DELHI. IM ALSO WAITING FOR ANY OTHER COMPANY TO DO THIS….

  27. aryan says:

Hello budz! I was thinking for a unlimited plan at reasonble price. the Unlimited Plan which Vodafone provide for worth 599/month is 3G plan or 2G plan? and how much speed this plan have? I m confuse about it.

    Plzzzzzzzzzz Help me guys.

  28. Kavita says:

Unlimited in 3G truly Unlimited is available only in BSNL. But as you all know BSNL has issues with network, it goes off for 2-3 days suddenly etc. Absolutely no customer care, in fact negative CC, because even if you get connected to CC u will be given wrong info for sure. Only way is to directly approach exchange and wait patiently infront of the officer with folded hands. All this is my per exp. But BSNL as long as it works is the best. All other like Airtel, vodafone etc loot with hidden, complex conditions with max limit of around 2-3GB only which is rediculous with 3G speeds. You get good offers from BSNL sometimes wait for them catch if u are not in hurry. Thanks

    • Kavita says:

I forgot to include MTNL too which is like BSNL in tariffs etc, no per exp with MTNL.

      • Ravi says:

        hey kavita!!
Tell me that , can i unlock my vodafone 3G usb stick for using MTNL 3G in it ? and if yes then how? plzz tell..

And i heard about MTNL 3G plan that is :- (200 megabytes for rs. 20 valid for 1 day)

Is it true, and can i use that plan on my vodafone 3G usb stick whose manufacturer is ZTE.
        tell me plzz…
